How it Works

Painting a wall sounds like the easiest thing in the world but if you have ever tackled this chore, you know that there’s a little more to it that slapping a paint brush against the wall. At Laing Painting follow certain steps to ensure that the job comes out great for you.

  • To protect your furniture, it is moved to the middle of the room and covered so no dust or paint get on it.
  • Then we lightly sand down the walls to remove small blemishes to ensure a smooth finish.
  • We then patch holes, cracks and imperfections in the drywall. We caulk anything that requires caulking.
  • We are now ready to start the actual painting.
  • Ceilings are done first (if being done) using a spray method with a back-roll to ensure an even coat.
  • We then apply paint to the door and window frame edges prior to painting the walls.
  • The walls are then painted with two coats of paint to ensure they have the truest colour and the ultimate protection.
  • Then the baseboards, door and window frame and the doors are all given two coats of paint.
  • The furniture and tarps are cleaned up to complete the project.

These are the basic steps to our painting process and should be yours if you decided to tackle the project yourself. Of course, there are other lots of other thing that may have to be addressed that we have not mentioned. This is where our experience really shines, what to do about leak stains, repairing or installing baseboards or just knowing the best paint for the project ahead of us.
